The Weierstrass approximation theorem and Bernstein polynomials (from the course “mathematical probability theory” taught by prof. Fardin Syed)

Context and motivation

Prior to taking this course, my only exposure to probability was from statistics courses, meaning that I only saw probability as a way of analyzing data. Taking this course showed me that probability has uses in several other mathematical fields that I would have never anticipated. One of the most shocking to me was analysis.
